Central and northeastern Slovakia are the mountainous parts of the country. Natural beauties of these regions are unusually rich and diversified. The areas of the Low and the High Tatra mountains were according to their precious character declared to National Parks.

The biggest attraction of Tatranská Lomnica is getting with a cableway to the Skalnaté Pleso lake and to the Lomnický peak. There are well prepared ski pistes from Skalnaté Pleso down to Tatranská Lomnica.In summer there are good tracks for hiking. In Starý Smokovec you shouldn´t miss the sledging track from Hrebienok. You cannot leave the High Tatra mountains without visiting the resort of Štrbské Pleso. It is the highest located ski resort in Slovakia offering great conditions for downhill or cross-country skiing. Jasná resort in the Low Tatras has already been the venue for the World University Winter Games, the Junior World Ski Championships and World and European slalom cup competitions. It offers great skiing opportunities for demanding skiers as well as for beginners or children.
